Benjamin Moore's new Aura interior paint promises to yield truer colors, a washable finish and invisible touch-ups.
The acrylic paint uses a technology called ColorLock that embeds the pigment in a binding agent, producing a surface that resists water, stains and fading and won't rub off. The paint recently received a 2007 Best of What's New Award from Popular Science magazine.
The paint requires no more than two coats, dries fast and is low in volatile organic compounds. It's available in matte, eggshell and satin sheens, all of which are washable.
An exterior version of Aura is expected to be available next year.
